Open Source Architect

What is an Open Source Architect?

The fountain of all things probably right, Wikipedia, tells us that apart from anything else, it is an emerging paradigm. Sounds exciting right? Sadly, it is referring to real buildings. Physical architecture that you can go live and work in.

I’m using the information technology definition of architecture “activity of designing any kind of system” to make open source architect describe someone who builds things (not physical things) using open source resources.

Specifically my interest is internet related. Ubuntu is a flavour of Linux, which is an open source operating system. Nginx is an open source web server proxy. PHP is an open source scripting language. MySQL is an open source relational database management system. WordPress is an open source CMS.

You put all the above open source technologies together, and you have built a website on open source architecture. This website is an example.
